The CVI XL works on the same principles as the standard CVI, only on a larger scale. We’ve added 9 wire rope modules instead of 6, and upgraded to 8mm thick plates to handle the largest of handheld gimbal setups. The stock payload range is from 16-28 lbs (7.3-12.7kg). Payloads above 28 lbs can be supported with custom stiff-wire modules. Lighter payloads all the way down to 3 lbs can be supported by simply removing wire rope modules. Even for lighter payloads, the CVI-XL provides better stabilization than the standard CVI because of its larger mass and wider area moment of inertia. Just remove 3 of the 9 wire rope modules.
